“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. ” – Colossians 3:23-24

July 27-31, Central will hold a work camp and VBS for our young people. Due to size and health restrictions, we are (1) having to cap our numbers, and (2) holding preregistration for both events.

The work camp will be held during the afternoons of Monday through Thursday will include both service projects and times of fellowship. This is for grades 6 and up (2019-2020 academic year).

The Vacation Bible School will be held in the evenings, featuring a modified format, again due to coronavirus restrictions. The theme will be “I Want to Be a Worker for the Lord.” Classes and activities will be held for young people of all ages (excepting cradle roll), but we must have preregistration to cap our numbers, and preference will be given to Central’s young people first.

On Friday, July 31, all participants are encouraged to take part in a day trip. (Details forthcoming.)

Q: Why are we doing this?

A: Our young people have had to miss so many beloved youth activities this year, due to coronavirus restrictions. Camps and VBS and trips have had to be cancelled. But we love our young people, so we are trying to encourage them with this one huge event to build their knowledge of God’s Word and their unity and love for one another.

Q: Why the number and age restrictions?

A: We are capping our numbers for both the work camp and VBS due to health regulations, but also because of logistics. We are making the work camp grades 6 and up (2019-2020 academic year) due to (1) the nature of the work and (2) the older group having some specific lessons/devos that are tailored to their age during the week. VBS, though, is for all grades (except cradle roll)!

Q: Is there a cost?

A: For VBS, there is no cost! For the work camp, we are asking each young person to pay $20 to help cover the cost of meals. If money is an issue, though, please let us know. We do not want any young person to miss this week due to money. The day trip on July 31 will incur its own cost, and we will update with that information as soon as we have it.
